Reverse phase dimming usually gives you better overall control and smooth dimming down to 5% light levels, while forward phase normally dims smoothly down to 10%. Generally, works better with LED light sources and all electronic low-voltage systems.
Operating temperature should be fine, but they need to be rated as a vapor sealed light fixture which I am not sure that they are. Seller or manufacturer should be able to answer that question for you. Also when installing make sure to place the lights less than 12” away from the wall as you want the lights to illuminate the sides of the steam sauna wall for the best illumination/effect.
Lights come with finger-like spring clips installed. If spring wires needed, merely remove single screw & nut mounting & swap spring types. These same screws allow spring to slide IN for 5" application & OUT for 6" application. Spring swaps & width adjustment takes no more than 2-3 minutes/light assembly.
No need to add anything to change the color temperature. There's a sliding switch on the rear of the lighting fixture with 5 indents for the different color temperatures. The switch can only be seen and accessible by sliding out the lights from the recessed cans.
Usually it's the quality of the electric components used in these LED light. The lower the wattage the lower the current needed due to the efficiency of the electrons moving throughout the fixture. Halo products cost more on average thus they are likely to have better and more efficient components to keep the wattage low yet maintain similar illumination.
